Patient Workups

vCases® Believes: To mimic the experience of a real case, virtual patient workups should reflect the clinical and emotional complexities of caregiver/patient interactions.

vCases mimics the experience of live patient workups. After reviewing the medical record, users learn the chief complaint and study a realistic patient’s appearance and behavior. For each body area, users apply clinical reasoning to select symptom questions to ask and learn patient responses that they can record or ignore. Associating possible diagnoses with discovered symptoms, they ask questions until the history feels complete. The physical follows with focus on interpreting physical findings: How does each discovered finding impact the diagnosis? Test ordering and result interpretation follow. Each test selection displays its name and cost.

Throughout, the integrated DxLibrary® is available to provide assistance, helping users to experience discovery. This is realistic, self-directed, experiential learning.
